Community Energy Buys 6 MW of PV Modules From Canadian Solar

RADNOR, Pa. (January 6, 2012) - Community Energy Solar, LLC (Community Energy) announced that it completed a purchase of 6 megawatts (MW) of photovoltaic panels from Canadian Solar for its Keystone Solar project in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The agreement was signed in December 2011 for the Keystone solar project located in Lancaster County, PA. The Keystone project, scheduled to go on-line in the summer of 2012, will be the largest solar project in Pennsylvania.

“The Keystone Project is an exciting solar energy project for us because we worked closely with the community to bring sustainable energy to a community known for its sustainable agriculture, and we designed the project to optimize and preserve agricultural use. The Canadian Solar panel brings us the efficiency and long-term stability we wanted as part of our
commitments to the community, our partners and the state of Pennsylvania,” said R. Brent Alderfer, CEO of Community Energy.

The panels are the 290 watt mono-crystalline technology and will be installed on fixed, ground mounted racks at the Keystone site. The Keystone project has signed a long term power purchase agreement with Exelon Generation for the output of the Project and will generate approximately 7.5 million kilowatt -hours of emission-free electricity per year. The solar project
received financing and funding from the Ben Franklin Technology Partnership, the Sustainable Energy Fund and the State of Pennsylvania.
